In this post, I wanted to reflect on how\u00a0AI in crochet design<\/em>\u00a0can be both inspiring and limiting.<\/strong><\/p>\n \n

The other day, I was browsing Pinterest for some inspiration \u2014 I was trying to figure out the shape for a sheep\u2019s ears.
I was looking for forms, colors, styles\u2026 something to spark that creative click.
But after just a few minutes, I noticed something odd: everything looked a little too similar. The images were beautiful, yes. Aesthetically perfect. So soft, so clean, so magical\u2026 almost like they\u2019d all been dreamed up by the same mind.
And then it hit me: most of what I was seeing had been generated by AI.
I have nothing against it \u2014 on the contrary.<\/p>\n


I\u2019m pretty fascinated by what this tool can do. I\u2019ve been using it quite a lot lately. It helps me translate, gives me ideas, refines my texts, and walks alongside me in my creative process like a fellow crocheter who simply enjoys watching me create.
It doesn\u2019t judge, it doesn\u2019t push formulas \u2014 it\u2019s just there, like another strand in my skein, helping everything flow.
And it\u2019s always there when I need it. Of course \u2014 it\u2019s a machine. But a pretty helpful one.
But still\u2026 I felt something I didn\u2019t expect: I got bored.<\/em><\/p>\n \n


Because as much as I appreciate those beautiful images, I don\u2019t want to see only that.
I want to see a sheep made of yarn. Another made of fabric. One painted in watercolor. One that\u2019s just a photo. One that\u2019s been stitched and restitched. One that breaks the mold. I want variety. And voice. And intention.
That\u2019s what makes creating so special \u2014 the mix. The decisions. The soul behind the work.<\/p>\n


AI can be wonderful\u2026 or dangerous.<\/strong>
It all depends on who\u2019s using it, and why<\/em>.
I choose a world where things coexist: digital and handmade, illustrated and photographed, pixel-based and wool-wrapped. Where technology doesn\u2019t silence the real, but amplifies it.<\/em><\/strong>
Because I believe creativity doesn\u2019t have just one language. It can speak through brushes, yarn, pixels, or words. And as long as there\u2019s a heart behind it, it will always be something worth sharing.
So I\u2019ll leave you with a question that\u2019s been sitting with me lately:
What if AI wasn\u2019t here to replace us \u2014 but to help us grow?<\/em><\/strong>
To guide, \u2028to spark,\u2028 to lighten the load\u2028 so we can focus on what matters most?
I prefer to believe that\u2019s the case.<\/em><\/strong>
